Buku Isu-Isu Pensejarahan

Sebuah buku terbitan tahun 1995 bertajuk Isu-Isu Pensejarahan.

This book is a compilation of 12 articles, a tribute to Associate Professor Dr R Suntharalingam upon his retirement in October 1991. The articles are contributed by his colleagues in the History Section of the School of Humanities of Universiti Sains Malaysia, his peers when he was a student of the University of Malaya in Singapore and his ex-students. This book is divided into two sections, historiography and nationalism, the two fields which greatly interested Dr Suntharalingam with focus on Malaysian history.

Tokoh Sufi Ma'ruf al-Karkhi (d.815M)

 

Bila mentakrif makna tasawwuf antara rujukan yang disebut adalah takrifan oleh Ma'ruf al-Karkhi. Beliau lahir sekitar 750-760M di daerah Wasit, Baghdad dan meninggal dunia sekitar 815-820M. Ustaz ZAB dalam bukunya menyebut takrifan tasawwuf oleh al-Karkhi sebagai pergantungan seorang hamba kepada Allah SWT tanpa terikat kepada akhluk. [Baca m/s 3].

Buku Nasionalisme - Satu Tinjauan Sejarah

 

Banyak buku terbitan lama sekitar 1980an yang menarik untuk dibaca. Malangnya pada tahun terbitannya raai kita yang masih dibangku sekolah atau belum bekerja maka tiada keupayaan wang untuk membeli. Satu buku yang perlu disebut ialah "Nasionalisme: Satu tinjauan sejarah" oleh R Suntharalingam dan Abdul Rahman Ismail terbitan Fajar Bakti tahun 1985.

Artikel yang patut dibaca adalah;

"Takkan Melayu hilang di dunia: satu sorotan tentang nasionalisme Melayu" oleh Abdul Rahman Ismail.

"Feudalisme Melayu: Ciri-ciri dan pensejarahannya" oleh Cheah Boon Kheng.

Tesis Narrating Early Islamic History

 

Pengkajian mengenai sejarah awal Islam masih terus dikaji. Ada sebuah tesis kajian Michigan Uni tahun 2013. Antara penilainya adalah Michael Bonner.
