Libya - Gabon President

On June 10, 2009 a special stamp depicting the image of Gabon President was issued by the Libyan Jamihiriya postal authority. The stamp was issued by Libyan to honor the Gabon President whom passed away on June 8, 2009.

Year 2010 is designate as the Year of Tiger in Chinese Lunar calendar. Many countries in the world has plan issuing special stamp to commemorate the year. Singapore has issued such stamps on January 8, 2010.

Slovenia - Food & Cooking





The sausage Jetrnica of Zasavje

On November 17, 2009 Post of Slovenia issued two stamps on the theme Food and Cooking. The first stamp is depicting The sausage Jetrnica of Zasavje and the other showing Grenadirmars (Coalminers Sun).

Jan 27 - UN Day of Holocaust

First of all this entry is not in any way promoting the remembrance of Holocaust. It is just been put here as an information regarding stamp issued by any country in the world for whatever reason. The UN has set in its calendar designated January 27 in every year as the International Day to commemorate the Holocaust.

Postal Authority of Romania has issued a special stamp to mark such occassion in year 2007.

Canada Post has announced six new stamps scheduled to be issue in the month of January 2010. The stamps are;

1. Year of the Tiger (Jan 08)

2. Le Devoir (Jan 10) - commemorative envelope celebrates the 100th anniversary of the founding of Le Devoir, Montreal’s popular independent daily paper.

3. Flag over historic mills (Jan 11)

4. Queen Elizabeth II (Jan 11)

5. Flowers (Jan 11)

6. Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games (Jan 12)

In February another three new issues are planned - on Feb, 1, 8 and 22.
