Milo, Alberta Canada - This hamlet was named after Milo Munroe, an early settler from Ontario who homesteaded in the area and opened a post office inside his farmhouse in 1908.

Milo, Sicily Italy - The name of this Italian village near Mount Etna is historically linked to the presence of an ancient water mill (mulino), which evolved through local dialect from Mulino del Milo to just Milo.
