The "50 Years of Aviation in Malaysia" stamps were issued by Pos Malaysia on April 2, 1997. They were released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Malaysia Airlines, celebrating its inception as the first commercial flight service in Malayan/Malaysian history in May 1947.
