The 1999 "Taiping, Perak (1874–1999)" stamp was issued by Pos Malaysia to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Taiping. It celebrates the founding of the town, marking the end of the violent Larut Wars in 1873 and the signing of the historic Pangkor Treaty in 1874.
