Malaysia issued a commemorative stamp in 2015 to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). As the oldest specialized agency of the United Nations, the ITU was honored for its 150 years of leadership in global communications—from early telegraphy to the modern internet.

The stamp and First Day Cover (FDC) were officially launched by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia on May 15, 2015, to align with World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) on May 17.
