Membaca m/surat awal buku Kelantan 1977 menemu nama Robert Winzeler. Beliau merupakan seorang pengkaji yang banyak menerbit buku dan makalah mengenai budaya dan kehidupan Melayu khususnya di Kelantan. Salah satu buku oleh Winzeler menurut penulis Kelantan 1977 adalah "Ethnic relations in Kelantan - a study of the Chinese and Thai as ethnic minorities in a Malay State". OUP 1985 (abebooks - link).

Robert L Winzeler is professor emeritus of anthropology at the University of Nevada, Reno. He received his MA and PhD from the University of Chicago and has done extensive long-term feildwork in both insular and mainland SEA. His numerous books include The People of SEA Today (2011) and Anthropology and Religion, 2nd Edtion (2012).
