The Malaysia 2001 Sabah & Sarawak Beads stamps, issued on February 17, 2001, were released to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and traditional handicrafts of East Malaysia. Notably, this landmark issue made Malaysia the first country in the world to dedicate a stamp series specifically to the cultural significance of beads.
