Setem Malaysia 2017 - 100th Anniversary of Oil Palm Industry

The stamps were issued by Pos Malaysia on May 18, 2017, to celebrate the centennial of the Malaysian commercial oil palm industry.

Commercial cultivation in Malaysia (then Malaya) began in 1917 at the Tennamaram Estate in Bestari Jaya (formerly Batang Berjuntai), Selangor. Frenchman Henri Fauconnier planted the first seeds there, marking the start of a massive industry.
