It is amazing to see Cuba is having such a modern infra-structure. It is depicted in stamps issued in Feb 2008.

But by glancing through the information on transportation system in Cuba such subway system is not likely available at the moment. May be that is what they plan to have in the future. The current status of public tranport in Cuba is not so encouraging. The Cuban public is travelling around on a kind of public bus which they called 'Camellos' - it is an old system.

There is a catalogue of stamps which depicted images of streetcars, subway and trolley coaches around the world prepared by an American professor (source - click here). The catalogue is quite out-of-date already. Cuban examples were available but it was dated 2004 and certainly the subway stamp was not there yet.
