Lets look more closely about the discovery of penicillin which was noted on the stamp as in the year 1921. Actually the penicillin was invented in 1928 by Sir Alexander Fleming. It was recognized as one of top ten inventions. The other discoveries which were considered as the top ten are telephone, computer, television, the automobile, cotton gin, camera, steam engine, sewing machine and light bulb.
As for the television invention it was recogized John Baird as the inventor in 1926. But of late it was recognized as well that the first telelevision image should be credited to Philo T Transworth. That was in the year of 1927. Read here and here and here for the report.
