Zimbabwe Stamps - Minerals

Zimbabwe is quite well known among us but probably for the wrong reasons. When Zimbabwe is mentioned we remember its famous figure Pres. Mugabe. He is over 84 yrs old and still clinging to power. Another about Zimbabwe is that the country uses a very big currency denomination - up to the level of trillion dollars. That is really a huge amount.

One Hundred Trillion Dollars ZWD

(1000 ZWD equivalent to USD3)

On the economic front Zimbabwe is big in mining industry. It produced all kind of mining resources including gold, emerald, diamond and etc. The importance of minerals to Zimbabwe was recognized by the issuance of special stamps with mineral theme. Four types of mineral were chosen to appear on its stamp - diamond, emerald, agate and aquamarine.
